Terms of use
NTU Map is independent of Nanyang Technological University. It is provided as-is for personal wayfinding. Do not treat it as official information from Nanyang Technological University, the National Institute of Education, the Land Transport Authority, or any other body named in the map attribution.
1. Agreement
These terms govern your use of NTU Map at ntumap.app and related pages (the service), operated by Finute Pte. Ltd. By using the service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use it.
Our Privacy policy explains what information is involved when you use the map. It forms part of this agreement.
2. Independent service
NTU Map is an independent campus map. It is not provided, endorsed, sponsored, or operated by Nanyang Technological University (NTU), the National Institute of Education, any NTU company, the Land Transport Authority, or any data owner named in the map attribution.
Names, marks, buildings, and campus descriptions appear only so you can recognise places. We do not claim those marks, and nothing here creates a partnership, agency, or joint venture with those organisations.
3. Licence to use
We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the service for personal, non-commercial wayfinding and campus orientation. You may not copy the service as a competing product, scrape it in a way that harms hosting, or present it as an official NTU system.
4. Campus information
The map shows campus information compiled from publicly available third-party sources. That can include maps, indoor plans, class times, live public transport information, campus shuttle positions, and parking occupancy. Sources are identified in the map attribution.
We do not operate those sources. We do not control whether they are complete, current, or available. Live layers may be delayed, wrong, incomplete, or withdrawn at any time. Display of that information on NTU Map does not mean we are affiliated with the source, that the source endorses us, or that the information is official advice.
5. No warranty
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, availability, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by the law of Singapore.
We do not warrant that buildings, rooms, paths, steps, lifts, opening hours, class times, bus positions, arrival times, parking occupancy, charger availability, or access rules are correct. Indoor plans and routes may omit hazards. Do not rely on the map where a mistake could cause loss, injury, a missed obligation, a fine, or a towing.
6. Your responsibility
You remain responsible for how you use the campus. Follow official signage, staff instructions, access rules, parking conditions, and road and traffic laws. Official NTU, NIE, LTA, and car-park notices prevail over the map.
You are responsible for tickets, towing, missed buses or classes, and any decision you take based on the map. If you need official information, obtain it from the organisation that issues it.
7. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use the service in a way that is unlawful in Singapore or where you use it;
- attack, probe, overload, or disrupt the service or its hosting;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to any system;
- misrepresent the service as official NTU information or as a product of any data owner named in the attribution;
- use the service to harass people or to collect personal data about others.
We may suspend or stop the service, or block access, if we believe these terms are being broken or if we need to protect the site or other users.
8. Intellectual property
Finute Pte. Ltd. owns the NTU Map interface, selection, arrangement, and original graphics, except where third-party licences apply. OpenStreetMap data remains © OpenStreetMap contributors and is available under the Open Database Licence. Other third-party content remains the property of its owners. You do not acquire any ownership by using the service.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by the law of Singapore, Finute Pte. Ltd. and its officers, employees, and contractors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss, or for any loss of profit, data, goodwill, or opportunity, arising out of or in connection with the service, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or in connection with the service is limited to the amount you have paid us to use the service in the 12 months before the claim. If you have paid nothing, that amount is zero.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Singapore law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
10. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you will indemnify Finute Pte. Ltd. against claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your misuse of the service or your breach of these terms.
11. Changes and availability
We may change, suspend, or withdraw the service, any live layer, or these terms at any time, with or without notice. The effective date at the top of this page will change when the terms change. Continued use after a change is acceptance of the updated terms. We do not promise that the service will remain available.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Singapore. The courts of Singapore have exclusive jurisdiction, except that we may still seek urgent or injunctive relief in any jurisdiction.
13. General
If a court finds a part of these terms unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. A failure to enforce a term is not a waiver. You may not assign your rights under these terms. We may assign ours. These terms are the entire agreement between you and Finute Pte. Ltd. about the service.
